Consumer Choice Award: Most Preferred Hospital for Overall Healthcare Services Presented by National Research Corporation. Featured in Modern Healthcare Magazine. Local healthcare consumers rated The Christ Hospital as the most preferred hospital in the Cincinnati market, which includes southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana. The award criteria are based on four consumer metrics: best overall quality, best image and reputation, best doctors and best nurses. This is the 14th consecutive win for The Christ Hospital.
2009 American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines Bronze Performance Achievement Award
The Christ Hospital has received the Get With The GuidelinesSM-Heart Failure (GWTG-HF) Bronze Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. Hospitals achieving bronze performance have demonstrated a commitment to treating heart failure patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 90 consecutive days. Bronze recognition is the entry level award for any hospital in the GWTG-HF program. Silver recognition is awarded when a hospital maintains bronze performance for 12 months, and gold recognition is awarded at 24 months and longer.

TCH wins six national advertising awards in the 26th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report. More than 3,600 entries were received making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition. A national panel of judges was engaged in reviewing all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. 2009 May-June AARP Magazine – The Christ Hospital was listed as one of the top 125 hospitals in the nation’s largest metropolitan areas. The rankings come from Consumers' Checkbook (CC), a nonprofit research organization that surveyed doctors for the lists of hospital recommendations in this article. In a new book and website, Consumers' Guide to Hospitals, the group does much more, rating nearly all acute-care hospitals in the United States based on death rates, complication rates, and various other measures.
2009 Healthcare Colloquium Accreditation for Heart Failure Center
The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium, Inc. has recognized the comprehensive heart failure (HF) services and quality care of The Christ Hospital by granting it full accreditation. The Christ Hospital is the first hospital in Greater Cincinnati, and only the fifth hospital in the U.S., to achieve this recognition.
2009 Innovative Solution Honorable Mention (Greater Cincinnati Health Council) – TCH was recognized for implementing hourly rounding on the 2 West Rehabilitation Unit, which has demonstrated a reduction in patient falls and has a potential for cost savings with Medicare no longer reimbursing for the cost of patient falls. TCH is looking at house-wide implementation because of the positive effect hourly rounding has had on patient and family satisfaction.
