Residents of Cincinnati’s west side will soon have greater access to the outstanding care of Cincinnati’s Most Preferred Hospital with the March 2 groundbreaking for The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center Western Hills. The center, located at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Filview Circle in Green Township, is scheduled to open in 2012.
“One of the most notable features of this new building will be the inclusion of our well recognized tower, which has been the icon of our main hospital campus in Mt. Auburn for decades,” said Susan Croushore, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital. “With this tower soon to rise above Green Township, our patients and their families can be assured that the same high-quality care they receive at our main campus will also be available much closer to their homes.”
The outpatient center will be a three-story medical office complex located about two miles south of Interstate 74 in the heart of Green Township’s main business district. The outpatient center will offer a wide range of services including cardiovascular, orthopaedic and primary care physician offices; a full-service imaging center; physical and occupational therapy; a wound healing center; and a testing center for diagnostic and pre-surgery lab work. There is room for future expansion at the site.
“The officials in Green Township have been tremendously supportive of this initiative to increase access to healthcare in western Hamilton County,” said Vic DiPilla, chief business development officer at The Christ Hospital. “It is a pleasure to be welcomed into the community, and we look forward to providing leading medical care here for many years to come.”
The Christ Hospital has selected Al. Neyer, Inc. to design and build the new 68,000 square foot complex. Cincinnati-based GBBN Architects will provide interior design services. The new facility will be among the first in western Hamilton County to be designed to meet LEED-Silver standards, which aligns with The Christ Hospital’s focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. The Christ Hospital is the nation’s first hospital to be awarded LEED® for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance™ certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Al. Neyer was chosen for the new outpatient center based on the strength of its site plan and building design, as well as its experience in building green for healthcare clients.
“We’re delighted to work with The Christ Hospital, designing a state-of-the-art care center to LEED-Certification specifications,” said David Neyer, President and CEO, Al. Neyer, Inc. “This project defines our collective interpretation of the future of smart healthcare delivery – sustainable and well-suited to its locational advantages.”
